Types Of Dentures

As a patient you several options for dentures that vary in price and complexity of procedure. We at London Denture Care help you take the best decision, with the expertise and the professionals at LDC.

Full Dentures

Full dentures consist of both upper and lower sets, and are mainly used when all natural teeth are gone. With proper care and maintenance, full dentures can last anywhere from 5–10 years.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are recommended when one or more natural teeth need to be replaced. They also help keep your remaining teeth from shifting.

Fixed Dentures

Some types of tooth replacements are fixed surgically, including bridges, implants, overdentures, and some removable dentures. Implants and bridges tend to cost more than removable dentures. There are four main types:

Fixed Bridge

A fixed bridge is used to replace missing teeth by cementing an artificial tooth to the remaining natural teeth on each side.

Implants

Dental implants mimic the roots of your teeth. They are surgically placed into the bone and fuse with it over time for a natural fit. The implant is then “loaded” with a prosthetic, either immediately after surgery or within six months.

Implant-Supported Fixed Dentures

A crown is secured to implants that are surgically inserted into the jawbone. It is then fixed in place by screws.

Implant-Supported Removable Dentures

Implants in the jaw are used to attach a denture. This provides stability while still allowing you to remove the denture if necessary.
